Sacred Heart of Jesus Ascending to Heaven
From the artist: “I've been interested in Sacred Heart of Jesus images since I was a child. I grew up in a Catholic family and lived at my grandparent's home in Maryland for a few years. At each doorway in their home there was a Sacred Heart of Jesus painting and a similarly stylized Sacred Heart of Mary next to it. I felt a mixture of fear and awe when I looked at those pictures as a child. I guess they stuck with me as this Sacred Heart is the first subject I ever painted.” |
