Comprehensive Bibliography

This bibliography includes all the books and articles used so far in researching and writing Search for the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

To satisfy those readers of bibliophiliac inclination, citations of “classic” titles are to the first English-language or early particularly important editions. For instance, the The Confessions of Saint Augustine citation is not to the first English-language edition, which was William Watts’ 1620 translation, but rather to Edward Bouverie Pusey’s revision of Abraham Woodhead’s 1660 translation that became the standard 19th century edition and remains in print to this day. All these classic titles are currently available in multiple editions.
